Dr. Solomon Passy
Bulgarian Parliament
ex-Foreign Minister
Dr. Solomon Passy is the founder and president of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria. Established as an NGO in 1990, the ACB spread the idea of the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact and Bulgaria's accession to NATO and the European Union. Dr. Passy drafted a parliamentary resolution for Bulgaria's accession to the EU (1990) and Minister Passy led the negotiations and signed the EU Accession Treaty in 2005.
He is currently Chief Governance and Compliance Officer at EPIX.AI, a company working to improve human health and extend human lifespan through epigenetics and artificial intelligence, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of M3 Communications, a professional public relations and marketing company.
In 2008, Solomon and Gergana Passy launched universal standardization of all mobile phone chargers. Their proposal came into force in January 2011 and saves millions of tons of CO2 emissions and e-waste every year. Today, Dr. Passy has initiated the development of a national legal framework for space exploration and is a passionate supporter of Bulgarian membership in the European Space Agency. The Passy family's latest project is to provide universal access to wireless internet throughout the European Union - an option that should be recognised as a universal human right and the EU's Fifth Freedom.
